What the audit covered

The city inspected all nine Galmaetgil courses, covering 23 sections and 278.8 km, from March 25 to April 23. The findings were finalised on August 25 and published on September 16. Corrective action was demanded, but the public report redacts district identities and does not say when or where each repair will be completed.

The audit also reviewed 81.64 km of designated bicycle-road sections within Galmaetgil. It recorded problems involving road markings, vehicle-entry controls, signs, route continuity, separation by surface colour, damaged pavement or barriers, and maintenance registers. One 1.22 km section had been built but not formally designated as a bicycle road.

Those findings do not establish that all 81.64 km is unsafe, that the undesignated section is closed, or that any specific section is impassable. The report publishes no cycling closure or detour.

Do not rely on a national point-location plate QR code or its displayed location alone if you need help on Galmaetgil. Give responders the printed plate number and, when possible, a fixed landmark or your phone coordinates as well.

Busan’s official audit found normal QR recognition at 52 of 272 checked plates, or about 19%. This does not mean every plate failed: 52 worked normally during the inspection. In a separate location check of 99 plates, 29 were installed at least five metres from their registered position.
