Taking bikes on Busan Metro
Busan Metro allows full-size bikes only in narrow windows. Folding bikes are easier. Powered PM devices are banned.
Quick Verdict
Possible, but narrow.
Busan Metro is not a casual bike-and-train system. It works if you ride at the right time, use the right car, and do not expect staff to improvise for you.
What You Can Do
Full-size bikes are allowed on Busan Metro on Saturdays, legal holidays, and president-designated days. Use the rear car.
Folded folding bikes are much less painful. They are treated separately from the usual large-baggage restriction when folded.
Powered PM devices are different. Busan Transportation Corporation banned PM devices from Busan Metro from January 2026. Do not assume an e-scooter, electric wheel, or similar device will be accepted just because a bicycle would be.
Practical Notes
- Do not block doors or aisles.
- Expect tighter enforcement when trains are busy.
- If you need a guaranteed transfer, use a folding bike.
- For a full-size bike, build your ride around the weekend and holiday rule.
The rule is usable. It just does not forgive bad timing.
